 Biography Sketch
Yuriy Olegovich Shlepnev was born in Mogzon, Zabaikal region of Siberia, Russia. He graduated from School of Physics and Mathematics of M. Lavrent’ev, Novosibirsk, Russia, in 1979. He received the Engineer Degree (M.S.) in Radio Engineering from Novosibirsk State Technical University in 1983, and Candidate of Technical Sciences Degree (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from Siberian State University of Telecommunications and Informatics in 1990. In his PhD dissertation, Yuriy developed a complete set of algorithms for 3D electromagnetic simulation of integrated circuits (ICs) on the base of the method of lines and multimode decomposition technique. From 1983 to 1991, he was with the Department of Transmitters and Receivers of Scientific Research Laboratory at Novosibirsk State Technical University, Russia. In 1992, he joined TAMIC software group, the first commercial electromagnetic software company in Russia. From 1997 to 2000, he was principal developer of a planar 3D electromagnetic simulator for Eagleware Corporation, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. From 2000 to 2006 he was a Principal Engineer at Mentor Graphics Corporation, Redmond, Washington, USA, where he was leading the development of electromagnetic software for simulation of high-frequency and high-speed digital circuits. In March 2006 Yuriy started Simberian Inc were he develops advanced and usable electromagnetic software for electronic design automation and serves as President and CEO. Yuriy lives in Seattle, Washington with his wife Irina Ivanovna Gonchar.

Dr. Shlepnev is a member of Electromagnetic Academy, Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES), IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques (MTT) Society, IEEE Antennas and Propagation (AP) Society, IEEE Electromagneic Compatibility (EMC) Society and IEEE Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology (CPMT) Society.
